This Friday Jake White announced the 30 man squad that will be flying to France this year to represent the Springboks. There were no real surprises for the selections. The squad was complied of 14 back line players and 16 forwards.
It’s an exciting mix of players many of whom have been together since I started my career as head coach of the Springboks,” said White. “I have great confidence in these players. They will carry the flag for the nation during the tournament with pride.
Jake White said about the South African Squad for 2007.
The squad has been approved even though the 10 players of color quota has not been met. SARU President Oregan Hoskins was failry disapointed that only 6 players of color were chosen however he encouraged the squad and wished them luck. “All of us agree that the work has got to be done at the bottom and not at the top. We’ve been doing it the wrong way around to make the task of the national coach and selectors easier.” said Hoskins.

Chose your players on merit and not color – what a disgust that all the players of color think that they are just there because they are nonwhite! Come on, give the players more credit! Let them know that they are there for their talent and not the color of their skin! Come out of the 15 century South Africa its embarrassing!
