Springbok coach Jake white has come under fire this week when it was announced that he would be sending a “B side” squad to the away games for the Tri Nations. Both the Australian and New Zealand Rugby unions have not been happy with this. The Australian Rugby Union has gone as far as to try canceling the scheduled match against the Boks and replacing it with the third Bledisloe Cup match against the All Blacks.
The reasoning behind this move from the Springboks is that their key players need to be rested. “Our guys have been playing week in week out since February and it has now caught up with them,” Jake White said after the close defeat against the All Blacks in Durban. He also added that this was evident in the poor performance of the Springboks in the last 15 mins.
Both Australian Rugby Union (ARU) President Peter McGrath and New Zealand Rugby Union (NZRU) President Jock Hobbs were outraged at the decision. Peter McGrath has stated that the South African Rugby Union has gone back on its word by not sending their strongest team over.

Hi there Guys, We in South Africa respect the AB, so I am just going to say this. Write off this, “so-called B rate team” at your peril. Yes many are up and coming, but its one dam good team. Wait till they play the Aussies and we’ll chat again.
