Rugby World Cup 2007

The host nation of this the 6th quadrennial Rugby World Cup (R.W.C 2007) will be France. The world championship tournament gets under way on the 7th of September. The opening match will be France vs. Argentina at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis. Englishmen Tony Spreadbury will be the Referee.

The Rugby world Cup will run till the 20th of October when rugby fans from all around the globe will find out who the world champs will be.
With the R.W.C 2003’s 8 quarterfinalists qualifying automatically it left 90 nations to battle it out for a place at the 2007 tournament.

The R.W.C 2007 will have 20 countries participating over 44 days. Giving us Rugby fans a healthy dose of 48 matches to watch!
Forty-four of these matches will be held across 10 French cities, with 4 matches being held in Cardiff and Edinburgh.

Well Done to Portugal who will be participating in the Rugby World Cup for the first time after they defeated Uruguay on aggregate in the qualifying rounds. Portugal is also the first wholly amateur team to have qualified for the word championship after Rugby turned professional.
